In Uganda, only 3 out of 10 children finish primary school – many never get the chance to attend at all. Too often, this is simply because their families cannot afford the annual school fee of just €7.
Two years ago we volunteered a few months in Kumi, a small town in northern Uganda and the region truly won our hearts. We founded our organization to support children in the district of Kumi whose Families cannot afford schooling and to give as many children as possible the opportunity to receive a primary education.
Aggie has been a trusted leader in the Ongino community in Kumi for many years. Before turning her attention to education, she spent years at Kumi Hospital, supporting patients and students through some of their hardest moments.
Today, she works alongside other community leaders to help vulnerable children and families in Kumi get access to schooling — often the ones who need it most.
We work directly with partner schools to keep children in class by covering tuition and essentials.
Step by step, we help schools repair and build safe classrooms so learning can continue even when buildings are worn or overcrowded.
